These are the rules of Warriors' Oath.
Reading and following them will be required of all members of this forum. The rules are subject to change, and any changes will be publicly announced.
General Rules.
→ Respect. Every healthy community requires respect. While on this site, please respect the staff, other members, and yourself. This allows for this forum to be a safe and healthy environment for everyone. Hateful language, unwarranted aggression, harassment, and bullying, will not be tolerated.
→ Warriors' Oath has a content rating of PG-13. Please make sure that any artwork, posts, debates or discussions meet this rating. We ask that any sensitive material be kept within PM between members. If completely necessary to contribute something that does meet the rating specified, please put {{MATURE}} (or some form of this) in the title of the thread.
→ Spamming. Spamming is the posting of inappropriate or random content. We ask that you refrain from posting any such thing. All spam posted on the site will be promptly removed and the user [if any, we understand bots have a tendency to do this] will be warned or temporarily banned.
→ Bumping and grave-digging are not allowed.'Bumping' is defined as replying to a post with the sole purpose of getting it back to the top of the post again. This draws attention to thread or post. Bumping an old post is called 'grave-digging'. Grave-digging brings old topics back to the top of the posts and draws attention back to the topic, though all conversation surrounding it make be considered finished. We ask that if a thread or post is older than one month that you do not reply to it.
→ Plagiarism and Theft. Plagiarism is the taking of others work; writing, coding, etc., without their consent. Theft is taking of another's character, artwork, etc.. If a member is caught doing either they will be warned [or temporarily banned] and their post will promptly be removed from the forums.
→ Advertising may only be done in the Advertisement board. Any advertisement is done in any other board, the thread will promptly be locked and moved to the graveyard. The creator of the topic will be warned and temporarily banned if it continues.
→ Follow the Proboards TOS.
Out of Character.
→ People who occupy high positions must be active. Higher positions are important within the clans, and them not being here could cripple their clans.
→ If someone who has a high position has not logged in over two weeks, their character will be stripped of their title. Characters who are in the line of succession will then be promoted [deputy --> leader] to the next rank. This allows more characters to be in higher positions, and rewards members for being active.
→ Activity Checks. An activity check is used to check the activity of the members of a group or forum. Having active members looks good and encourages new members to join our forum. That being said, there will be monthly activity checks on this site. They won't be anything fancy, simply a thread to see who here and who isn't. Just a quick post of 'here' will suffice.
-- If more than two activity checks are missed and the member is question has not pm-ed an admin, staff member, or has a thread explaining their absence, then the member's account will be deleted and their characters considered MIA or dead. |
→ Character Limit. To prevent one single member from 'owning' a clan by creating a lot of cat belonging to one clan, there is a character limit of six [6] cats. If a member had more than six cats before the rule was instated, they are allowed to keep them.
→ A member can only have 2 high ranking characters. In addition, both of the cats cannot be within the same clan. Very few exceptions will be made to this rule, if any.
Characters.
→ No unnaturally colored cats. Cats rely on their color to help them during hunts or when hiding from a predator. A bright pink cat will stick out like a sore thumb among the underbrush or dry grass. It is likely they would either be killed or starve to death in the wild.
→ Larger Cats. Most cats only grow to be 28 cm in height and about 8.6 kg in weight. Larger cats are allowed, however they are not allowed to physically stronger simply because they are larger in size.
→ You must claim a prefix in the name claim thread before you can create your character.
→ Cats sharing names. Characters can share the same prefix, but not the same suffix [ex: two Goosetails cannot exist, but a Goosetail and Goosefur can.] Additionally, characters with the same prefix can not be in the same clan, but can exist in separateclans. In reference to leaders, apprentices and kits; if a cat with the same prefix is already in the position, the second character must wait to be born/promoted until the first character has had a name change, retired or died [tldr: two Poppypaw/kit/stars can not exist at the same time.]
→ Only cat character can be created. In the future, this rule may change, but for now the only characters that can be created are cats.
→ Characters must be approved before you begin roleplaying them.
Roleplaying.
→ Post Length. Here at Warrior's Oath we require that roleplay posts be a minimum of 100 words. This allows for your fellow role players have enough information to provide an adequate reply. We ask that users refrain from replying with only 2-3 sentences because it hardly gives others any information it makes it more difficult for them to reply to you.
→ Grammar. We encourage our users to use proper grammar and punctuation. Spellcheck is also encouraged. We understand if English is perhaps not your first language, but we would appreciate it if you made an effort.
Chat speak, slang, and shorthand is discouraged withing the roleplay areas. Please refrain from using it.
→ PG-13. As previously mentioned this forum has a PG-13 rating. We ask that this is reflected in your roleplays. If you wish to roleplay your character getting intimate then please then it to a more private area (PM, skype, etc.)
→ God-modding and Powerplaying are not allowed. Godmodding / Power-playing includes: A character being extremely powerful or undefeatable, controlling another's character without their permission, dodging all attacks and always hitting other character, or killing another character without the player's consent.
→ Fighting. Warrior's Oath has, admittedly, loose rules when it comes to fights between characters. We ask that your character not dodge more than 2 attacks in a row. If your character has dodged two attacks previously then the next attack will be a direct hit. If your character dodges one attack but it hit on the next attack, then the 'dodge counter' will reset and they have the opportunity to dodge the next two attacks.
→ Clan and non-Clan interactions. Though they are subject to the rules of the forum, Clan Leaders may also set their own rules within the clans. Some may have loose rules when interacting with loner/rogues [or even cat from other clans] while others may have stricter. It might be wise to read through the rules that the Leader has set before having your character attempt to enter their territory. Claiming ignorance of the rules will not save your character from the consequences of treading in unfriendly lands.
