I. Introduction
Deep within the darkness of the forest is a home for a mysterious group of felines. This is the dwelling place of Nightclan. The cats that inhabit this land are known for being shrouded in mystery. They tend to keep to themselves, and aren't likely to engage in combat unless completely necessary.

II. Territory
NightClan has made it's home within the darkness of the forest. Underbrush and trees grow here densely and make it hard to navigate to those who do not know the territory.

III. Concept
NightClan is much like a generic warrior clan. At the top of the tier is the leader, who usually has the suffix of -star. The Clan leader is responsible for all of the cats within their clan. They are charged the the discipline of the cats they lead, maintaining order and protection. Directly below the leader is the Deputy, whom is their confident and second-in-command. Deputies serve as leader if the current leader is unable to fulfill their duties. Deputies are in charge of organizing hunting and border patrols, as well as advising the Leader. 

In terms of spirituality and things relating to StarClan, the Medicine Cat is the go to cat within the Clan. Medicine Cats are entrusted with the lives of all of the cats in their clan. It is their responsibility to collect herbs, diagnose sick clan mates and provide treatment for those who need it. They are also trusted to interpret omens and signs from Starclan.

Warriors are responsible for protecting and providing for the clan. They are expected to participate in hunting parties, as well as border patrols. Those who have attained this rank are as charged with the training and well-being of an apprentice. Female warriors who have had, or are expecting, kits. While taking care of kits are preparing for them, the she-cat is temporarily relieved of her warrior duties. Once the kits are old enough to become apprentices, the Queen will resume her role as a warrior. Elderly cats become Elders. These cats have served his or her clan well. Their duties as former warriors, leaders, or medicine cats are taken away and they are allowed to retire. The wisdom and council of these cats is often sought after.

Below Warriors and Queens are Apprentices. An apprentice is a cat that has aged at least six moons and is training to be a warrior or medicine cat. They accompany their mentor of hunts and border patrols, as well as have lessons and battle. They become warriors once the clan leader, and their mentor, believe he/she is ready.

The final, and youngest, rank within the clans is Kits. Kits are cats who are under the age of six moons and live in the nursery. They have no official duties within the clan.

NightClan believes strongly in StartClan. Omens and signs are taken deathly seriously.
